Joshua 2:12 continues the amazing display of grace in a community that was about to experience judgment. It is an incredible miracle that the Apostle James commended Rahab’s faith that was evidenced by her works, and therefore, she was justified in the sight of God. Her faith in the midst of chaos and impending judgment identified her with God’s people. By her act of faith in sheltering the servants of God and acting in obedience to their word, her family was preserved. There is an overflow presence that comes into our house as we act in obedience to the word of the Lord. This is faith’s abundance. Her reward was based on her obedience, and her protection was evidenced by a scarlet thread in the window. Wherever there is faith, there is works, and faith without works is dead. Obedience must be followed by the corresponding action. There is a tremendous promise of protection, preservation, and power, but this all could be nullified if I don’t carry through with corresponding action. It is time to have the works of the believer manifested to see the fullness of God’s power.
Once I was blind, but God touched me.
Once I was lost, but God found me.
Once I was under wrath, God loved me.
