Joshua 2:12 continues the amazing display of grace in a community that was about to experience judgment.  It is an incredible miracle that the Apostle James commended Rahab’s faith that was evidenced by her works, and therefore, she was justified in the sight of God.  Her faith in the midst of chaos and impending judgment identified her with God’s people.  By her act of faith in sheltering the servants of God and acting in obedience to their word, her family was preserved.  There is an overflow presence that comes into our house as we act in obedience to the word of the Lord.  This is faith’s abundance.  Her reward was based on her obedience, and her protection was evidenced by a scarlet thread in the window.  Wherever there is faith, there is works, and faith without works is dead.  Obedience must be followed by the corresponding action.  There is a tremendous promise of protection, preservation, and power, but this all could be nullified if I don’t carry through with corresponding action.  It is time to have the works of the believer manifested to see the fullness of God’s power.

Once I was blind, but God touched me.

Once I was lost, but God found me.

Once I was under wrath, God loved me.

Joshua 2:12 continues the amazing saga of the woman Rahab, who is living in a city that is about to be judged by God, but has given haven to God’s servants.  She is asking these men, by the power of their Lord, to show her kindness even though she is a part of a society that is oppressive and sinful.  You don’t have to be consumed by the things around you, or bow to the sin that surrounds you.  The world is under judgment, but God is seeking someone to show His mercy and kindness to.  Where did this woman get this kind of faith to make this demand of kindness and protection from God’s servants?  In verse 9, she heard of the great deliverance, and victory and faith cometh by hearing the Word of God.  She came to faith because of seeing the supernatural power on the lives of God’s people.  There are some who will look at your lives and come to faith because they have heard.  Do not lock out of your house the thing that can bring deliverance and hope and protection.  The supernatural presence of God in your life is the most powerful factor in seeing someone else delivered.  God’s servants went into her house.  Go to someone’s house, family, business and see God’s hand of provision for them as you walk in His power.
