Joshua 3:16 speaks of the movement of the people from the place where they pitched their tents.  Before them was the flooded river Jordan but in the safety of the tent there was no victory.  To view the river Jordan from the safety of the tent was yet a reminder of the human impossibility that was before them.  You will face your greatest impossibility before your greatest triumph.  The priests have now taken the ark, which symbolizes the presence of the Lord, and they are leading the procession to the river Jordan.  To follow the priests to the bank and through the Jordan the tents must be left behind.  They removed from their tents.  Someone needs to arise today in this holy procession and leave the tents behind.  To get through the Jordan, you must get to the banks.  To go to and through, you must be a diligent follower of the presence of the Lord.   Today, I am not being led by Joshua, but I am following Jesus, who with His blood made a way through the impossibility of the deep dark river of sin.  Rise up and remove from the tent.

Joshua 3:14 gives the results in the lives of the people when the priest took his position.  The priest position was standing in the waters of the Jordan that were forbidding and overflowing so the people could walk on dry ground.  This is a beautiful picture of our high priest Jesus who, on the cross of Calvary, stood in the overflowing waters of sin and there bore the responsibility of opening the way that I could walk through.  Hallelujah!  Joshua 3:16 declares that the people removed from tents.  You can remove from your tents when the priest and the Ark goes before you.  This is the word to the house of the Lord, “Remove from your tents”.  The Move is on!  The same verse said, “They passed over the Jordan”.  They removed and passed over.  What a wonderful display of victory and overcoming as God’s people are able to conquer this challenge without fighting.  In following the priest with the Ark, the children of Israel were able to remove from their tents and pass over.  This is our moment to pass over.  Keep looking to the great high priest, Jesus and as this gaze is fixed in trust, victory comes.
