Joshua 1:5 — “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

We are continuing our series on the book of Joshua. They are getting ready to possess the land, receive the gifts of God and absolutely overrun the enemy. God gives them a word of encouragement that resounds with hope and power, “No man shall be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life.” The size of the enemy, the intensity of the attack or the reports of the people will make no difference because of this word, “No man.” The next word is “No man shall be able.” The ability of the enemy will be taken away. What a joy to know that when I follow the Word of God that the ability of the enemy is taken away. We are the only soldiers that know before we walk into the battle, that the battle is already won and the victory is already given. The next words are powerful, “Before Thee.” This makes it personal for it does not matter who you are, when you are in His will, this glorious promise is personal. The enemy has no power over me. It is not just another preacher or teacher with this power, IT IS ME! I pray that you take this word, “Devil, you shall not stand before me.”

Joshua 1:2, 3 — “Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give unto them, even to the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.”

We are continuing this wonderful journey into the inheritance God had given Israel, yet at this time they were not in possession of this gift. There are so many promises God has given, yet they are unrealized in our lives. I call them unpossessed possessions. It is mine by inheritance, (Joshua 1:2, 3) but it is not until I occupy it, I take it, that it becomes mine. It is not just mine by inheritance, but mine by occupation. Joshua 1:3 says, “Every place the sole of your foot shall tread upon have I given to you.” The principle is, you tread, I give. You walk, I impart. You rise up, I come down. Every place means there are many gifts, mercies, blessings that God has for you in this land of inheritance. Israel had a physical inheritance while we have a spiritual inheritance. They had physical enemies that tried to stop their entrance into their inheritance while we have spiritual enemies that try to prohibit us from entry. When you walk, tread and occupy there is a life of continued power that God gives. God never gives inheritance to the stationary or stagnant. We will not be denied the God-given right to spiritually possess the inheritance. Rise up today and occupy your place of blessing.
